Good bang for your buck!
Well, it is in a plaza!
Slow but very well done! No problem with separate cheques for 12 people!
Met my expectations of a Thai restaurant.
On January 23, 2013 Windsor Girls Growl™ headed to Simply Thai Restaurant for our latest Growl.
The menu was fairly extensive, but novices of Thai cuisine may have needed a little help in sorting out the large number of dishes and flavours.
The service was good, unhurried and professional. We were certainly encouraged to linger and enjoy our meals.
The Hot and Sour soup was fantastic. A different flavour than traditional Chinese, and in my mind, much more complex. The stir fries were enjoyably seasoned, and you could order each dish as spicy as you liked.
In general, everyone was very impressed and happy with their meal. The only detractor was a couple of Growlers ordered a dish with tofu. The tofu was very overcooked and therefore hollow in the middle… no actual tofu to eat!
The portions were generous; actually quite a few “lunches” were taken home to be enjoyed again!

Comments from fellow Growlers
Farah K. said: “I agree the tofu was overcooked but the green curry dish was amazing, and next time I will request them to simply grill or sauté the tofu instead of deep frying it. The eggplant and green sauce were so delicious I cannot wait to go back for more. I tried some of the ice cream, it was delish, very creamy, with a slight coconut texture, and not at all over sweet like most desserts these days.”
Laura S. said: “Summer rolls were delicious, a little taste of summer! Crunchy and refreshing and the peanut sauce that comes with it is to die for!! My pad panang noodle made with chicken and medium heat was also amazing. I guess I just love peanuts. The portion was very large, I had dinner and enough for lunch the next day. Finished off with the banana fritters with coconut, big enough to share and a perfect ending to a great meal.”
Julie B. said: “Unfortunately my sweet basil stir fry was lacking flavour and the beef was not very tender as it usually is. But the chicken spring rolls and the banana fritter made up for it!”
Laurel R. said: “I loved my summer roll with peanut sauce – so refreshing! And my Pad Thai with seafood was very tasty. I was glad I hadn’t had lunch that day, as the portions were gigantic! And the banana fritter with coconut ice cream sprinkled with peanuts was divine – certainly not a light dessert, but deceptively light tasting!”
Kelly W. said: “I have to compliment the restaurant on allowing me to tweak my selections to fit my diet. The summer rolls are made fresh so I was able to ask for the vermicelli noodles to be removed from mine and I was also able to substitute the noodles/rice from my stir fry for bean sprouts. I have eaten here often and have never been disappointed, however, my modifications did alter my enjoyment (of my own doing). I much prefer the stir fry with my favourite Shanghai noodles. The banana fritter also deserves a special mention… delicious and such a generous portion.”
Lisa M. said: “I love a good red curry and Simply Thai’s is the best I’ve had in a long time. When my dish arrived, I couldn’t stop smelling it, it was so fragrant! I ordered it with spice, which gave it a nice bite, perfect for a cold winter’s evening. The portions were so generous I had enough to lunch the next day! Simply Thai has become my new favourite Thai restaurant in Essex County!!”
